Facility in Jackson, Tennessee set for closure by October, impacting 140 employees
West Chicago, Illinois – Titan International Inc. is to close its tire manufacturing facility in Jackson, Tennessee by the end of October as part of plans to “consolidate production” and improve operational efficiency in North America.
In an 18 March statement, the US off-highway tire and wheel maker said production at the Jackson site will be “transitioned to other existing Titan facilities over the coming months.”
The closure will impact 140 employees, Titan said.
The move is part of Titan’s efforts to “optimise its manufacturing footprint and improve capacity utilisation,” it added.
Titan is taking “deliberate actions to improve its operating efficiency while maintaining the flexibility and scale required to serve our customers,” explained president and CEO Paul Reitz.
The company said it will work closely with local leadership and support affected staff with “severance, benefits continuation and job placement support.”
Despite the closure, Titan said it will continue to operate a “robust network of manufacturing facilities across North America.”
Headquartered in West Chicago, Illinois, Titan manufactures off-highway tires, wheels and undercarriage products for OEM and aftermarket customers.
