Group to simplify operations and sales model, manufacturing footprint will not be affected
Brussels, Belgium – Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has announced a new phase of restructuring within its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations designed to “simplify operations and reduce internal complexity”.
The proposed changes will impact 600 roles across sales and support functions and aims at creating a “more customer centric organisation that delivers enhanced value across the region,” said Goodyear 17 March.
The US tire maker also expects to create 200 new roles under the revised operating model, said Goodyear, adding that the changes remain subject to consultation with employee representatives.
The latest phase builds on earlier transformation efforts within the group to improve financial and operational efficiency.
“This next phase of our transformation represents a critical step forward in our journey to unlock growth,” said Jan-Piet van Kesteren, managing director EMEA and chief sales officer EMEA consumer.
“Further reducing internal complexity is essential to drive success and position Goodyear for long-term growth,” he added.
The programme includes measures to “streamline operations,” “evolve the route to market,” and “refine sales and support functions” in line with the group’s global operating model.
Goodyear said the changes are expected to improve “business sustainability” and support future growth.
The US tire maker stressed that its manufacturing footprint will not be affected through the process and there would be “no immediate changes” to customer service.
The group aims to “redirect energy toward what matters most… delivering quality products, reliable service, and genuine partnership,” van Kesteren said.
