Deal will see companies combining composites and metallic structures expertise for OEM programmes
Paris – Hutchinson has signed a memorandum of agreement with India’s Dynamatic Technologies to target the country’s "fast-growing" aerospace sector, the French group announced 3 March.
The agreement brings together Hutchinson’s “advanced composite and multi-material systems expertise” with Dynamatic’s industrial capabilities in “metallic aerostructures and class 1 assemblies.”
The collaboration, said Hutchinson, will position the companies as partners for global aerospace OEMs operating in India.
As part of the “initial step” in the partnership, Dynamatic will award Hutchinson an initial composite parts work package, while Hutchinson will award Dynamatic a “first multi-year metallic parts contract.”
The tie-up is aimed at supporting aircraft production ramp-ups and addressing demand in India’s aerospace market, while also preparing for “the next generation of aircraft.”
Hutchinson said it will contribute its experience in developing and manufacturing composite solutions and integrated systems, supporting OEM requirements in 'performance, weight reduction, sustainability and competitiveness.'
Dynamatic, for its part, brings expertise in metallic structures and assemblies.
The collaboration will support “the long-term development of India’s aerospace ecosystem, particularly for complex work packages and high-rate programmes,” said Helene Moreau-Leroy, chairman and CEO of Hutchinson.
India, she said, represents a “fast-growing and highly promising aerospace market,” where the group aims to deliver “complex, innovative and competitive solutions… close to our customers.”
Hutchinson is currently present in India through its automotive activities, and the latest agreement extends its footprint into the aerospace sector.
