Baar, Switzerland – Testing, inspection and certification provider SGS has expanded its Renault?aligned rubber material testing services to China, the company has announced.
The development at its laboratory in Guangzhou, extends capabilities established at its long-standing Renault-recognised laboratory in France, said a 2 March SGC release.
The expansion, it stated, complements SGS’s broader automotive materials portfolio and “will support manufacturers and suppliers engaged in Renault programmes across the region.”
According to SGS, the transfer of mature European methodologies, standardised execution practices and technical expertise will support OEMs and tier?1 suppliers in the local market.
A technical audit validating testing proficiency confirmed high consistency between SGS results and those of Renault’s own lab: demonstrating compliance with the vehicle maker’s global standards.
With this expansion, SGS claims to operate the only rubber materials laboratory in China delivering testing activities aligned with Renault requirements.
The Guangzhou unit is said to offer end?to?end technical support from raw material screening and formulation optimisation through performance validation and environmental compliance.
“Localising these capabilities in China enables faster testing cycles, greater result consistency and more efficient validation, helping suppliers meet OEM requirements and accelerate time?to?approval,” said SGS.
Furthermore, the Guangzhou expansion “enhances supply-chain efficiency for Renault and its supply base, while reducing cross?regional testing costs and operational complexity.”
