Production plant in Pune to produce transmission belts, hoses and tubes
Pune, India – Nitta Corp. has completed the construction of a new factory at the existing site of its subsidiary Nitta Corp. India (NCI) in Haveli, Pune, western India.
The facility has a site area of over 25,000 sq.m. and total floor space of 6,800 sq.m., roughly three times the size of the previous factory, said Nitta 24 Feb.
Constructed with an investment of INR835 million (€7.7 million), the facility will produce transmission and conveyor belts, resin hoses and tubes, auto tool changers and air conditioning filters.
With the new factory, Nitta said, NCI has strengthened its processing capabilities for transmission and conveyor belts and hose and tubing products, and has begun manufacturing air conditioning filters at the site.
Nitta said the investment forms part of its medium- to long-term management plan, Shift2030, under which India is positioned as a key growth market.
The new factory is intended to strengthen the supply system for Nitta Group products tailored to local demand and to expand its ability to serve a range of industries in India.
The company added that the site will act as one of the group’s core bases for South Asia and the Middle East.
NCI was incorporated in 2012 and has since expanded its presence in India.
