Japanese polymer & chemicals group says increases being introduced to mitigate higher costs
Tokyo – Eneos Materials Corp. has announced a price increase for all latex products, citing higher production costs and raw material inflation.
The Japanese supplier will raise prices by Yen28 or more per dry kilogram across all latex products, effective 1 April.
In a 13 Feb notice to customers, the company said the market environment for the latex industry has become “increasingly challenging,” adding that maintaining a stable production and supply base has become an urgent priority.
Eneos stated that “rising labour costs and repair and maintenance expenses have significantly increased our manufacturing costs.”
It also noted that prices of “auxiliary raw materials” used in production have escalated.
Despite internal cost-saving measures, said the company, it is “no longer possible to offset them solely through our own efforts.”
