Facility in Zacatecas follows ‘doubling’ of German group’s sales over the past two years
Wiesbaum, Germany – German automotive supplier Elastomer Solutions has opened a new manufacturing plant in Zacatecas, Mexico as it gears up for increased demand.
In a 17 Feb social media post, the German group said it celebrated the opening of the new plant having ‘doubled’ sales over the past two years.
Growth prospects, it went on to add, remains “strong” for Elastomer Mexico, adding that construction is already underway on a new plant the location of which was not disclosed.
Based in Wiesbaum, and majority-owned by German private equity investor Mutares, Elastomer Solutions is a provider of rubber, thermoplastic and rubber-to-plastic (2K) components for the automotive industry.
According to its website, the group serves 1st Tier and 2nd Tier and also OEM customers by supplying custom-made polymeric parts.
In addition to two manufacturing plants in Mexico, the group also operates a ‘full-service development centre' in Germany and production facilities in Portugal, Slovakia, Morocco and Mexico.
Among other clients, the group supplies parts to leading global OEMs, including BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes, and Nissan.
