UniPyrum signs engineering, consulting deal with Pyrum for plant in Thuringia, central Germany
Dillingen, Germany – Pyrum Innovations AG has signed an engineering and consulting contract with UniPyrum – its end-of-life tire (ELT) pyrolysis JV with Unitank – to build their first joint venture ELT recycling plant in central Germany.
The project involves the construction of a waste tire pyrolysis plant in Emleben, at Unitank’s existing farm in Thuringia, said Pyrum 5 Feb.
Pyrum and Unitank announced the joint venture partnership earlier this year, with plans to build at least five tire recycling plants across Europe. (ERJ report)
The recent deal represents the first commission awarded by the UniPyrum joint venture, valued in the “high six-figure euro range”, with an initial down payment already made, said Pyrum.
With the agreement, the approval process for the Emleben plant has now formally begun.
According Pyrum, the joint venture has been provided with initial funding, which it said will be used, among other things, to identify strategic locations for future plants.
The next steps, it said, are to identify potential locations for the next two joint projects in Germany and to initiate the necessary planning and approval procedures.
