Phase III expansion and modernisation at Banmore brings daily PCR capacity to 30k units
New Delhi - JK Tyre & Industries Ltd has inaugurated phase III of a capacity expansion and modernisation project at its passenger car radial (PCR) tire plant in Banmore, Madhya Pradesh, India.
The upgrade is part of a multi-phase investment programme, costed at over INR10 billion (€95 million), at the Banmore site, said JK Tyre's 14 Jan announcement.
With the new investment, the facility's production capacity has increased to 30,000 passenger car radial tires per day, or about 10.5 million tires a year.
According to chairman Raghupati Singhania, the investment signals JK Tyre's "unwavering commitment to strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem."
“As passenger vehicle demand continues to rise, our focus remains on incessant capacity enhancement, modernisation, and technology-led innovation,” he stated.
The investment, added Singhania, will reinforce the tire maker's ability to serve OEMs and consumers with "high-quality, sustainable, and future-ready products."
The Banmore plant operates with a focus on sustainability through energy-efficient processes and responsible manufacturing practices, added JK Tyre.
