Trelleborg expands silicone tooling expertise with Austrian acquisition
Finalises deal to buy tooling, automation specialist Nexus Elastomer Molds
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) has signed and finalised a deal to acquire Austria-based tooling and automation specialist Nexus Elastomer Molds GmbH.
Based in Eberstalzell, the company provides “advanced, customised tooling solutions” and automated manufacturing cells, primarily for liquid silicone rubber, said Trelleborg 7 Jan.
The Swedish group said it had previously partnered with Nexus in both development and production.
The acquisition will add external sales of SEK160 million (€15 million) on a rolling twelve-month basis as of June 2025.
Through the acquisition, TSS will be further strengthening its expertise in silicone tooling, manufacturing, and automation, said business area president Jurgen Bosch.
The company’s “technical approach, with rapid tool development, shortens lead times and enables our customers and us to accelerate innovation,” Bosch added.
The acquisition, Trelleborg noted, will strengthen and expand the capabilities of both TSS and Trelleborg Medical Solutions.
