New Quzhou facility to supply rubber and Poly-Met wear parts for mining and aggregates customers
Espoo, Finland – Metso Corp. is investing in a new rubber products manufacturing facility in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, China, as it looks to strengthen customer service and expand local supply for the mining and aggregates sectors.
The new plant will manufacture rubber and Poly-Met mill linings, as well as Trellex screening media, targeting customers in China and the wider region, the Finnish mining equipment supplier said 8 Jan.
Metso said the investment reflects growing demand in the local mining market and forms part of its strategy to reinforce regional manufacturing and supply chain capabilities in key customer markets.
Production of screening media is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026, while mill lining production is expected to start toward the end of the first half of the year.
The company said the facility will use modern manufacturing technologies to support the production of “larger and more complex rubber and composite components.”
Localising production, Metso added, is expected to shorten delivery times, improve responsiveness and expand service offerings for customers operating in China.
“Metso has chosen to proceed with this investment in response to growing customer demand within the rapidly expanding mining sector,” said Saso Kitanoski, president of Consumables at Metso.
Quzhou was selected in part due to the presence of Metso’s foundry operations, allowing closer integration across manufacturing processes.
