China extends duties on EPDM imports from EU, US, South Korea

Terminates dumping duties on imports of the rubber products from the UK
Beijing – China has extended anti-dumping duties on the imports of EPDM from the US, EU and South Korea for another five years, according to a recent announcement by commerce ministry Mofcom.
The duties, ranging from 12.5% to 222% were initially imposed on EPDM imports in December 2020.
A sunset review was launched following a petition by Jilin Petrochemical branch of China National Petroleum Corp. and Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Elastomers, said Mofcom 18 Dec 2025.
The anti-dumping duty rates levied on the companies are as follows:
American companies:
1. Dow Chemical Co. 222.0%
2. ExxonMobil Corp. 214.9%
3. Arlanx Newtech America, Inc. 219.8%
4. Lion Elastomers, Inc. (Lion Copolymer Geismar LLC) 219.8%
5. Other US companies 222.0%
Korean companies:
1. Kumho Polychem Co., Ltd. 12.5%
2. Lotte Weiss Elastomers (Lotte Versalis) 21.1%
3. Other South Korean companies 24.5%
EU companies:
1. Alan Newtech Netherlands (Arlanxeo) 18.1%
2. ExxonMobil Chemicals France 14.7%
3. Vesalius SA (Italy) 16.5%
4. Other EU companies 31.7%
The anti-dumping measures applicable to imported EPDM rubber originating from the UK will expire on 20 Dec 2025, said Mofcom without providing further details.
The dumping investigation period for the review was from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, and the injury investigation period was from 1 Jan 2021 to 30 June 2025.
EPDM has a wide range of applications, including construction, wire and cable, automotive industry, and transportation.
