Factory closure, planned for mid-2027, to impact 228 employees
New Lexington, Ohio – Cooper-Standard has announced plans to close its automotive parts plant in New Lexington, Ohio, impacting 228 employees.
The US supplier submitted a letter to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services last month stating that job cuts will start in February with the plans for a full closure by July 2027.
In a statement to ERJ, Cooper-Standard said the process will involve the relocation of the New Lexington business and equipment into other existing Cooper Standard US locations over the next several months.
The company said the decision reflected its ongoing review of plant utilisation and efforts to optimise its manufacturing footprint and overall operating efficiency.
"The company is committed to providing transitional support to all employees affected by this action, in cooperation with appropriate government agencies," it added.
