Tire maker showcases latest innovations, future strategies at global partners event
Zhaoyuan, China – Linglong Tire aims to become “even larger and more successful,” president and CEO Wang Feng said at a global partners conference that marked the company's 50th anniversary.
The Chinese tire maker, he said, will focus on “building an open, smart, synergistic, global industrial ecosystem to promote efficient collaboration along the entire value-chain with the help of technological innovations.”
Focused on 'sustainable innovation', the event at Linglong’s Zhaoyuan HQ included discussions on the transition to green and smart technologies within the tire industry.
Innovations featured included: tires made from 79% bio-based, sustainable materials; self-healing tires equipment with an intelligent self-repair system; and air-free tire technology.
Linglong also highlighted the role of partnerships in its development from small beginnings since 1975: recognising the contribution of “long-standing partners, such as Bekaert and VMI."
According to its 7 Dec press release from the conference, Linglong signed strategic agreements with various institutions and companies in the areas of new materials, green energy and digitalisation
Such partnerships, it concluded, “signal a shift from traditional supply-chain relationships to an integrated ecosystem along the entire value-chain.”
