New owner for Haeggblom truck bodies, buckets and wear parts, retains rubber lining and ground tools ops
Helsinki – Metso is to divest its loading and hauling business in Finland and Sweden — including the Haeggblom-branded operations — to Finnish wear-solutions specialist Miilux Oy.
The Haeggblom business manufactures heavy-duty truck bodies and dump boxes for mining and aggregates operations, along with buckets, undercarriage components, wear parts and related engineering services.
These products are primarily used in haul trucks and loaders in Scandinavian mining regions.
Metso stated it will continue to provide certain consumables to its existing customer base, including truck-bed rubber linings and ground-engaging tools in selected markets.
The divestment covers operations in Kokkola and Kalajoki in Finland and in Lulea in Sweden, with around 100 employees and associated assets transferring to Miilux at closing.
The transaction is expected to complete by early February next year, subject to regulatory approvals, Metso announced 10 Dec.
The Finnish group said the sale supports its “we go beyond.” strategy, which seeks to grow aftermarket services and sharpen its focus on core product lines.
The companies did not disclose the transaction value, and Metso said the sale will not have a material financial impact.
The divestment move folllows a strategic review of the business launched by Metso in August.
