New facility in Ba Ria–Vung Tau province to produce marine fenders, sealing systems and polymer components
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure has opened a new 60,000 sq.m. manufacturing facility in southern Vietnam as part of an expansion of its Asia-Pacific production footprint.
Located in the Phu My 3 specialised industrial park in Ba Ria–Vung Tau province, the site will produce key product lines including marine fender systems, sealing systems for infrastructure, and advanced polymer solutions for marine construction applications, Trelleborg announced 24 Nov.
According to the company, the plant is equipped with advanced production systems and is built to meet "the highest international standards for safety."
“This investment underscores our commitment to providing our customers with high-quality solutions, delivered with the responsiveness and efficiency they expect,” said Richard Hepworth, president of Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure.
Vietnam’s location and workforce, he added, make it “an ideal location for this expansion.”
As previously reported by ERJ, Trelleborg selected Phu My 3 SIP due to its a strategic position and proximity to major transportation routes.
In particular, the zone is 2km from Cai Mep - Thi Vai Deep Sea Port, and around 30 minutes from the new Long Thanh International Airport.
The opening of the new facility is part of Trelleborg’s broader strategic roadmap to deliver “long-term sustainable growth” in line with market demands.
Moreover, the new site in Vietnam will reinforce Trelleborg's production capabilities in the marine-fender, marine-construction and infrastructure product areas.
The Vietnamese plant will complement the group’s existing operation in Qingdao, China, serving the Chinese as well as other global markets, Trelleborg added.
