Due on stream in 2027, project 'underscores our confidence in Latin American market'
The Hague, The Netherlands – Arlanxeo is to expand production capacity at its synthetic rubber facility in Triunfo, Brazil by 25%, the Saudi Aramco-owned producer announced 14 Nov.
The polybutadiene unit involved previously underwent an expansion to a 65 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa), said the 14 Nov announcement, adding that the investment is to rising demand in Latin America and beyond.
“The next phase of expansion will ensure a reliable, local supply of high-quality products while maintaining global production balance and security of supply, stated Arlanxeo – without reporting the amount being invested.
Due to come on stream in 2027, Arlanxeo said the expansion shows its commitment to the Latin American market and a ‘local-to-local’ approach that supports regional growth and sustainability.
"After increasing capacity to 65kt at our polybutadiene plant… we are now taking the next step and will further expand our capacity by 25%,” said Angelo Brazil, chief manufacturing officer at Arlanxeo.
The expansion underscores the company's confidence in the Latin American market, continued Brazil.
“With strong performance, a well-run operation, and a market with solid customer demand, we’re perfectly positioned for continued growth,” he concluded.
