Continental tires approved for Porsche Macan EV

Hanover, Germany – Porsche has approved several Continental tire lines as OE for its new all-electric Macan, including the SportContact 6, CrossContact RX, and WinterContact TS 860 S.

The SportContact 6, designed for speeds up to 217mph, offers “exceptional grip and stability” through a high-grip compound, optimised tread and new reinforcement structure, Continental said 5 Nov.

For greater comfort, the CrossContact RX combines a specialised tread and siping design for lower road noise and reliable wet braking.

Versions supplied for the Macan are rated for speeds up to 149mph.

According to Continental, the WinterContact TS 860 S provides high traction and control in snow, with low rolling resistance to extend the range of electric vehicles.

Porsche also fits Continental tires on other models including the Taycan, Cayenne and Panamera. 

All Macan OE tires carry the Porsche-specific “NE0” sidewall marking.
