Facility marks group's first overseas mould manufacturing base, with phase-two expansion set for year-end
Tay Ninh, Vietnam – Mesnac has opened its first overseas mould production plant – Precision Mould Co. Ltd – in the Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Zone in Tay Ninh province.
The facility, trading under the 'Seiko' brand is the first "segmented tire mould manufacturing plant in Vietnam", supplying moulds to global tire makers operating in the region, said Mesnac 27 Oct.
Described by Mesnac as "most modernised" tire mould production plant, the unit is to play a crutial part in Mesnac's internationalisation strategy, said Zhou Chuanhai, chairman of Precision Mould.
The facility is intended to position production closer to global customers and improve supply chain responsiveness.
According to Mesnac, the project will be developed in two phases and will provide both mould manufacturing and on-site equipment servicing.
Phase I will focus on segmented moulds for passenger car radial (PCR) tires, with a monthly capacity of 120 sets.
Phase II, scheduled to begin by the end of the year, will expand capacity and extend production to truck and bus radial (TBR) moulds, motorcycle tire moulds and related equipment services.
Mesnac said its objective was to build a “comprehensive, localised supply chain system” for customers in Vietnam and surrounding markets.
