Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies expanding aftermarket portfolio with US acquisition

Company acquires Alabama-based Alto Products Corp. through aftermarket division Corteco
Weinheim, Germany – Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies, together with its aftermarket division Corteco, has acquired Alto Products Corp., a manufacturer of clutch plates and automatic transmission parts.
This acquisition strengthens Freudenberg’s position in the North American and global aftermarket, expanding the company’s product and service offerings for customers, said Freudenberg-NOK 4 Nov.
Described as “the world’s oldest and largest independently owned clutch plates manufacturer’, Alto Products Corp. operates a 270,000 sq.f. manufacturing facility in Atmore, Alabama.
It also has additional sales and distribution locations in Mexico, the Netherlands, and China. The family-owned company employs 240 people, with 230 based in the US.
According to Freudenberg-NOK, Alto is “renowned for” its friction plates, steel reaction plates, and comprehensive kits for automatic transmissions, serving automotive, heavy-duty, and marine segments.
The acquisition enables Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies to offer complete transmission rebuild solutions by integrating Alto’s friction and steel plates into new product offerings for the market.
It also expands the company’s reach into international markets through Alto’s established presence in Latin America and Asia.
