Mesnac breaks ground on Cambodia tire & rubber machinery plant

Project part of two Southeast Asian expansion programme announced last year
Chaiyarin, Cambodia – Chinese rubber & tire machinery maker Mesnac has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new facility in the Qilu Cambodia Economic Zone in Svay Rieng Province, it was announced 30 Oct.
The new site will strengthen production capacity and service coverage for customers in Southeast Asia, said Mesnac in a social media post.
The project was initially announced last year as part of Mesnac’s growth strategy in Southeast Asia, which also included the construction of a new rubber machinery factory in Vietnam. (ERJ report)
Speaking at the groundbreaking event, Mesnac general manager Zhou Chuanhai, said the Vietnam and Cambodia projects were aligned with the group's strategy to to support global tire manufacturers.
With the new facility, Zhou said, Mesnac will continue to develop its international production network to provide more “convenient and efficient” integrated solutions for tire producers in Southeast Asia and beyond.
Mesnac unveiled its plans to expand production footprint in Asia in June last year with an overall investment of Yuan135 (€18 million).
In Vietnam, the machinery maker broke ground on what it described as “the most modernised” tire mould production plant in January this year. (ERJ report)
The Chinese group has earmarked a total of Yuan106.8 million to build the factory in Trang Bang Town, in the southeastern Vietnamese province of Tay Ninh, over an 18-month period.
In Cambodia, the group is aiming to invest Yuan28 million to set up its production base in 14 months.
