To end HSBC production in Berre to focus solely on USBC products
Houston, Texas – Kraton Corp. has announced plans to streamline its polymers operations in Berre, France to solely focus on producing USBC (unhydrogenated styrenic block copolymers) elastomers.
The move will see Kraton ceasing the production of HSBC (hydrogenated styrenic block copolymers) products at the location, said a company release 24 Oct.
Kraton linked the decision to the “global overcapacity of HSBC production” and said the move will strengthen its long-term competitive position by optimising manufacturing footprint.
“With this step, we are preparing Kraton for a sustainable future,” said Prakash Kolluri, president, Kraton Polymers.
The company will supply HSBC products to customers from other manufacturing plants.
