Winter i*cept range achieves strong results in five recent European tire tests
Frankfurt, Germany – Hankook’s Winter i*cept range has achieved strong results in five recent European tire tests, earning ratings from “exemplary” to “good” across multiple publications.
The Winter i*cept RS3, designed for compact SUVs and mid-size cars, was rated “exemplary” by Auto Bild Allrad (16 Oct issue) in size 215/55 R17, Hankook reported 22 Oct.
Testers noted the tire’s “safe handling on snow-covered and wet roads” and strong traction on snow, with top marks in snow and wet braking, aquaplaning, and dry handling.
The same model earned a “very good” rating from auto, motor und sport (25 Sept issue), which cited its “shortest braking distance on snow” and “precise driving characteristics.”
The Winter i*cept evo 3, tested in 225/40 R18, received a “good” rating from Auto Bild (9 Oct issue) for its “snow expertise” and value for money. It also recorded the “best result” in aquaplaning during cornering among competitors.
Europe’s automobile association ADAC also rated the Winter i*cept evo 3 as “good”, highlighting its high mileage, low wear, and fuel efficiency, alongside “good” safety scores in wet and dry braking.
For SUVs, the Winter i*cept evo 3 X in 235/50 R19 achieved a “good” rating in Auto Bild Sportscars (November issue), where it has been described as an “all-rounder with consistently good performance.”
The tire, according to Hankook, performed particularly well in snow and wet braking and in the snow slalom test.
