Mutares acquires former Conti hydraulic drum brake operations in Italy

To be integrated into automotive & mobility segment as part of new entity Zendra Systems
Munich, Germany – Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has completed the acquisition of the Aumovio (formerly Continental Automotive) drum brake manufacturing and R&D location in Cairo Montenotte, Italy.
Under the share deal, Mutares took over all employees and business operations at the site, the Munich-based private equity group announced 2 Oct.
The acquired business will be integrated into Mutares’ Automotive & Mobility segment under a new entity named Zendra Systems.
The Cairo Montenotte site, in the northwest province of Savona, specialises in hydraulic drum brake systems and electromechanical parking brakes (EPB) designed for drum brakes.
The facility employs 400 people and is forecast to deliver revenue of around €100 million in 2025.
