“Global racing organisation” to enhance the US tire maker’s motorsport strategy worldwide
Akron, Ohio – Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has unified all motorsport operations under a single global structure to form its ‘global racing organisation’.
Xavier Fraipont will lead the newly formed organisation as VP, global racing, effective 1 Oct, Goodyear announced on 30 Sept.
Fraipont will guide the team's strategic direction while aligning its efforts with Goodyear's broader product and brand vision.
He brings three decades of experience across racing and product development, as well as “deep industry knowledge and a proven track record within the Goodyear family of brands.”
The unified Goodyear racing operations will include teams supporting NASCAR, NHRA, WEC (LMGT3 class), and BTCC.
Fraipont will report jointly to Chris Helsel, SVP and chief technical officer, and Will Roland, SVP and chief marketing officer.
With the move, Goodyear is "advancing our commitment to innovation – enhancing performance and elevating our competitive edge worldwide," said Helsel.
Motorsport, added CTO Roland, is “a central pillar” of Goodyear’s brand strategy.
"It's where our technology, performance, and brand identity converge,” he added.
