Plant currently has capacity to produce 3.3 million tires; phases 2 & 3 due for completion in 2026
Semarang, Indonesia – Zhongce Rubber Group (ZC Rubber) has marked the production of its one millionth tire at the Matahari Tire Indonesia (MTI) factory, less than 10 months after the plant’s official start-up last December.
In a 26 Sept social media post, the Chinese group said it has been displaying the “Zhongce Speed” at its overseas factories, establishing “record times” in land acquisition, construction, tire production and achieving profitability.
Marking the event, ZC Rubber deputy general manager and MTI head Wang Xianning said the factory currently has an annual production capacity of 2.3 million all-steel radial truck and bus tires and 1 million bias highway and OTR tires.
“In just nine months, MTI has grown to become Indonesia's largest tire manufacturer,” Wang added.
According to ZC Rubber, MTI generated revenue of Yuan 202 million (€24 million) and net profit of Yuan 20.67 million in the first half of 2025.
Meanwhile, MTI’s workshops 2 and 3 are “progressing rapidly”, with equipment installation expected to begin in October.
The two phases are expected to reach full production in the first half of 2026, further enhancing the factory’s capacity and profitability.
The social media post did not provide capacity details for workshops 2 & 3.
