New extrusion line at Ferrara factory to produce thermoplastic copolyester elastomers
Soragna, Italy – Italian compounder Taro Plast has expanded its production capacity for thermoplastic copolyester elastomers with the addition of a new extrusion line at its plant in Ferrara, northeastern Italy.
In a 22 Sept statement, the Soragna, Parma-based company said it made the “significant investment” in response to growing demands for “high viscous materials for extrusion and blow-moulding applications in the automotive and industrial sectors.”
In addition to increasing production capacity for Pibiflex and Riteflex elastomers, the new line will also allow for “increased efficiency, precision, and flexibility in the development of advanced polymer compounds,” Taro Plast added.
The machine, said the compounder, has been designed with energy-efficient features and “next-generation automation systems”, to support long-term sustainability goals.
The extrusion line is expected to be fully operational by the end of September, creating additional skilled jobs at the Ferrara site.
