Hamburg-based group takes over Kraibon distribution rights in South Africa, UK
Hamburg, Germany – Biesterfeld has expanded its sales partnership with Gummiwerk Kraiburg, taking over distribution of the company’s Kraibon products in South Africa and the UK.
The move makes Biesterfeld the exclusive distributor of the range across Europe, with the exception of Italy, said Biesterfeld in a 19 Sept statement.
Kraibon materials are thin foils made from unvulcanised rubber, developed by Gummiwerk Kraiburg to improve the performance of composite materials.
They are used in automotive, sports, leisure and industrial applications, and are claimed to offer benefits such as improved acoustics, lightweighting, impact resistance and splinter protection.
The portfolio includes Kraibon Impact for impact and splinter protection; Kraibon Hybrid for multi-material bonding; Kraibon Damp for noise insulation and damping; Kraibon Temp for high-temperature applications and Kraibon Fire for fire protection.
The elastomers are designed to provide high energy absorption, adhesion to common resin systems and long service life.
They are also suitable for use in industries including automotive, motorsport, marine, medicine and urban air mobility.
