Expanded role includes enterprise-wide artificial intelligence strategy
Northville, Michigan – Cooper Standard has appointed Soma Venkat as senior vice president and chief information technology and AI officer, effective 15 September 2025.
Venkat will lead the supplier’s artificial intelligence strategy while continuing to oversee information technology, said Cooper Standard 18 Sept.
He rejoined Cooper Standard in 2021 as SVP and chief information technology officer, having previously held roles at the company from 2016 to 2020.
Before returning, he served as CIO at Innovative Xcessories and Services (IXS).
Venkat holds degrees in mathematics and computational mathematics from the University of Madras, College of Engineering Guindy and University of Windsor, as well as executive certificates from Chicago Booth and MIT Sloan.
