Smiley Monroe opens conveyor belt depot in UK Midlands

Lisburn, Northern Ireland – Smiley Monroe has strengthened its reach in the UK and Ireland with the opening of a new conveyor belt depot in the Midlands, UK.

The new base in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, will offer full conveyor belt rolls and cut lengths of belt with expedited delivery options available, including next day delivery and same day collection.

The footprint expansion in England is “a direct response” to customer feedback, particularly from “loyal customer base of service companies,” said the Lisburn-headquartered firm 27 Aug.

“Our customers wanted to do more business with us, [and] they needed faster lead times than what we could provide from Northern Ireland,” said CEO Chris Monroe.

The new Midlands hub, Monroe said, will allow “swift delivery and service levels” for growing demand.

In addition to the new centre, Smiley Monroe operates manufacturing and distribution facilities in the Northern Ireland, the UK; Franklin, Kentucky; and Tamil Nadu, India.
