Facility in Aguascalientes to strengthen local supply chain, support growth in Americas
Fairlawn, Ohio – ContiTech has officially started production at its new hydraulic hose manufacturing facility in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
The $90 million (€70 million) facility will increase ContiTech’s production capacity for fluid power solutions in the region and will help strengthen local supply chain, said the company 10 Sept.
Located in the Vesta Industrial Park in Aguascalientes, in central Mexico, the 900,000 sq.f. site will manufacture “high-performance hydraulic hoses” for a range of industrial and mobile applications.
These, ContiTech said, the construction, agriculture, mining, and energy sectors.
The unit is expected to help ContiTech become “a more agile, regionalised partner" to its customers,” said CEO Philip Nelles.
The facility will work in alignment with ContiTech’s existing manufacturing unit in Norfolk, Nebraska, offering “production flexibility, increased responsiveness and operational efficiency.”
The two sites will help balance volume, technology, and lead time across a coordinated regional network.
According to Andreas Gerstenberger, CEO of ContiTech USA and head of business area Industrial Solutions Americas, the new unit will help meet customers’ demand for “responsive and innovative solutions.”
“This investment is about creating mutual value with our customers, partnering closely to help them succeed in their own markets,” he concluded.
