Facility to support growing demand for high-performance, green tires
Shenzhen, China — Chinese silica specialist Jin Sanjiang (Zhaoqing) Silicon Materials Co. is planning to expand its production of inorganic silica through the construction of a new plant in Malaysia.
The project aims to support the growing demand for “green, low-carbon, high-performance silica for tires,” the company said in a 28 Aug stock exchange filing.
The company said its total investment is capped at Yuan600 million (€72 million), with funding subject to final approval from relevant authorities.
The filing did not provide further details about the output capacity of the plant or a construction timeline.
The project will be executed via the fully owned subsidiary JSJ Malaysia Sdn. Bhd and will advance based on evolving market demand and the pace of business development.
The Malaysian production base is part of Jin Sanjiang’s broader global supply chain strategy to “better serve overseas customers, adapt more flexibly to macroeconomic and trade shifts, and enhance international competitiveness.”
Established in 2003, Jin Sanjiang is specialised in the production of precipitated silica and operates a facility in Zhaoqing High-tech Zone in China’s Guangdong province with a total capacity of 86 kilotonnes per annum.
