Deal expands company’s films portfolio in medical, mobility and textiles
Leverkusen, Germany – Covestro has completed the previously announced acquisition of Pontacol, a Swiss producer of multilayer adhesive films.
Initially announced in June, the deal adds specialised flat and blown films to Covestro’s 'solutions & specialities segment', said Covestro 28 Aug.
According to the German group, the products will complement Covestro's existing range and address demand in medical technology, mobility and textiles.
The deal includes two production sites in Switzerland and Germany, which Covestro said will strengthen its global manufacturing network and improve regional supply of adhesive films.
The acquisition will also bring in "complementary technologies, new customer relationships, and an expanded product portfolio," said Covestro.
Transaction details were not disclosed.
