Announces major management reshuffle following change of ownership earlier in June
Zhuhai, China – Jiangsu General Science Technology Co. has noted ‘increasingly favourable’ trading environment and renewed its pledge to expand internationally following a change in ownership in June (ERJ report).
The Chinese tire maker said it has put into production two expansion projects at its manufacturing facilities in Sihanoukville, Cambodia (ERJ report) and Rayong, Thailand (ERJ report).
The two projects are expected to fully ramp up by the end of 2025 and new production capacity to be released to support “continued growth”, said General Science 15 Aug.
According to the group, international trading environment became increasingly favourable, as the US slashed its reciprocal tariffs on Thailand and Cambodia from 36% to 19% at the beginning of August.
This, said General Science, “significantly improved the tire export environment.”
The tire maker said its Cambodian base is currently experiencing “robust production and sales,” the plant having produced its 10 millionth tire in May.
Furthermore, the unit reduced its manufacturing cost to “record low” in June.
The Cambodian “product quality and service have been highly praised by major overseas customers, demonstrating its outstanding global operational capabilities,” General Science added.
General Science went on to renew its commitment to international growth under the new ownership of Soho Holding.
The group introduced a new senior management team as a result of the change in its ownership structure.
Gu Cui has been appointed as general manager; while Cheng Jinyuan will serve as EVP.
Zhang Gaorong, Feng Chenjiao, and Bao Dongxiao have also been named as new VPs; Bian Yabo as VP and secretary of the board of directors; and Ni Xiaofei as CFO.
Earlier in August, the tire maker reshuffled its board of directors and elected Jia Guorong as chairman.
