Company recently initiated a 20ktpa expansion for wet‑mixed natural rubber/silica master batch products
Jiyuan, China - Jiyuan Hongxin Rubber Composite Material Technology is planning to build a water-based full-formula wet-mixed 'nano-rubber composite' material production line, according to an environmental impact report approved by the local government on 14 July.
The Yuan50 million (€6 million) project will add a small testing platform to the existing engineering workshop and make use of a rented idle building to install a new 10 kilotonne per annum (ktpa) wet-mixing production line.
A supporting slurry production line for silica and other nano- or modified fillers will also be built.
The project will use natural concentrated latex, synthetic latex, silica, and carbon black as raw materials.
Wet mixing technology involves dispersing these fillers in water, blending them with liquid rubber latex, and then processing them via coagulation, dehydration, and drying.
This approach enables better dispersion and uniformity of the additives during the rubber mixing phase, according to the environmental report.
Environmental measures include sealed feeding, dust collection, and vent stacks for air emissions, as well as onsite treatment for domestic wastewater.
Founded in 2021 in the “nanomaterials industrial park” in Wulongkou, Jiyuan city, in China's northwestern Henan province, the company specialises in in "nano?rubber composite materials" for "high?end" tire and rubber product applications.
With patented wet?mixing technologies and in?house equipment design, Jiyuan Hongxin completed its first 10ktpa wet?mixed natural rubber/silica master?batch production line in 2023.
In June this year, the company announced that it expanding with a 20ktpa “green zero?carbon full?formula wet?mixing demonstration project”, supported by a 5ktpa carbon?black nano?emulsion line.
