Facility in Omsk to produce ‘extreme load’ bearing tires for mining, extractive industries
Omsk, Russia – Russian polymer specialist JSC Avangard is planning to build a 'giant' tire factory in the Omsk region, according to the Russian ministry of economic development.
The RUB41.5 billion (€450 million) facility will be located in the ‘Avangard’ special economic zone, as reported during a 9 July meeting between deputy economic development minister Svyatoslav Sorokin and local authorities.
Production is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2028, with the plant set to produce around 10,500 extra-large tires per year for heavy-duty mining equipment and machinery used in the extractive industries.
The tires will be built for “extreme loads” and are expected to be in high demand across major industrial sites in Siberia and the Russian Far East.
According to the ministry, “a substantial portion” of output is already backed by confirmed orders, ensuring a stable production load.
