Blaze extinguished with no injuries; damage to equipment, inventory currently being assessed
Zibo, China – Chinese silicones manufacturer Shandong Dongyue Organosilicon Materials Co. has confirmed a fire on 20 July in its “Phase III synthesis line, bed B”, which it said is part of its organosilicon monomer production facility.
The blaze, which broke out around 13:50 local time, and was extinguished with no injuries reported, the company said in a 21 July Shenzhen Stock Exchange announcement.
The company activated emergency protocols, including an immediate one-button shutdown, and coordinated with local emergency services to control the fire.
Damage to the production facility, equipment, and inventory is currently being assessed. A complete insurance claim process is underway.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the impact on 2025 financial results is uncertain.
Dongyue said it would "maximise customer order fulfilment and implement corrective measures to prevent future incidents."
Founded in 2006, Dongyue produces organosilicon monomers and derivatives – including organosilicon monomers, intermediates, and downstream silicone rubber, silicone oil, silicone resin and fumed silica.
The facility in Zibo has a capacity to produce 600 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) of organosilicon monomer and deep?processing products, according to Dongyue’s website.
