Ariete 8K model uses a TPU containing up to 70% renewable raw materials...
Varese, Italy - Ski and motorsport brand Ariete has launched a new ski goggle made with bio-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), developed in collaboration with materials producer Coim Group.
The Ariete 8K model uses Laripur RS, a TPU containing up to 70% renewable raw materials, said Coim in a recent statement.
The material is designed to offer the same flexibility and strength as fossil-based TPU, while reducing the product’s overall life cycle carbon footprint.
Coim said the material choice allows the goggle to be classified as having “neutral environmental impact,” with remaining emissions offset through certified schemes.
“The 8K goggle… represents a manifesto of our vision of the future,” said Annalisa Mentasti, director of Sandro Mentasti, the producer of the Ariete brand.
Through the collaboration with Coim, she went on to say, the company “has been able to integrate innovative and sustainable materials, without compromising on performance.”
To be on display at Eurobike Frankfurt 2025 later this month, the product meets EU PPE regulations and safety standards for ski goggles under EN 1938:2010.
The mask will also be present at the K2025 international rubber and plastics fair in Dusseldorf, Germany in October.
