Location scouting currently underway for passenger car tire production facility
Kyiv – Black Donuts Inc. is considering the construction of a new passenger car tire manufacturing plant in Ukraine, according to Mykola Kalashnyk, acting governor of Kyiv Oblast.
A team from Black Donuts, headed by CEO Kai Hauvala, as well as Finnish diplomatic and trade representatives, met with Kyiv authorities to discuss the large-scale investment, said Kalashnyk in a 16 June social media post.
The facility will have a capacity to produce 5 million passenger car tires per year, with most of the output destined for exports, he said.
Location scouting is underway for the facility in the Kyiv region.
“The plant will be able to employ up to a thousand people, including veterans returning to civilian life,” said Kalashnyk.
In addition, he said, the city is also discussing the construction of a social housing project next to the facility to provide jobs for “internally displaced persons.”
