VW to fit Vredestein tires as OE on Tiguan SUV

Amsterdam – Volkswagen Group has selected the Vredestein Wintrac Pro winter tire as OE for its Tiguan SUV in Europe, Apollo Tyres has recently announced.

Apollo will supply the tires in size 215/65 R17 99H specification for fitment onto Tiguan models at VW’s production facility in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Manufactured at Apollo’s Gyöngyöshalász plant in Hungary, the tire employs a patented compound enriched with high silica and resin content for enhanced grip and control in challenging conditions.

It is certified with the ‘Three Peak Mountain Snowflake’ symbol and “complies with EU winter tire regulations (ECE R117), Apollo’s announcement continued.

The Wintrac Pro is optimised for snow conditions, along with an EU tire label rating of ‘A’ for wet grip: providing exceptional traction on wet, snowy and icy surfaces.

With a ‘H’ speed rating, the tire is certified for up to 210 km/h (130 mph), offering superior all-weather handling, shorter braking distances and high-speed stability.

Rated ‘C’ for rolling resistance and ‘B’ for road noise, the Wintrac Pro also optimises vehicle range while providing a quieter, more comfortable driving experience.
