Group closing its LWB Automation facility in Weinheim as part of wider 'strategic realignment' process
Altdorf, Germany - Steinl Group is set to close its LWB Automation GmbH facility in Weinheim, Germany by 30 June, as part of a wider strategic realignment of its business activities.
The restructuring will consolidate the group's automation capabilities under LWB Steinl Machinery in Altdorf, which will take over as the central unit for automation solutions and customer service.
As announced earlier this year, all ongoing projects at the Weinheim site will be completed as planned before operations cease.
According to Steinl, the realignment is intended to maintain "high-quality service" for existing systems and support the development of new solutions.
In the group's statement, managing director Martin Schuermann said the restructuring would help focus the business on its strengths and support long-term development.
LWB Automation was founded in 2017 to meet the increasing demand for automation, providing 'special purpose' machinery for the production valves, axle bearings, air suspensions, and seals.
According to its website, LWB Automation employs more 30 people in Weinheim, and supplies solutions to car manufacturers, OEM suppliers and industrial customers worldwide.
