Authorities in Anlu cease counterfeit wheels, impose penalties on company ordering the products
Hiratsuka, Japan – Yokohama Rubber Co. (YRC) has announced that it has ‘eliminated’ counterfeit versions of its aluminium wheels for Advan racing tires in China.
Acting on the complaint and information provided by YRC, the authorities in the Chinese city of Anlu, Hubei province, search and seized all the counterfeit wheels found at the site of the accused company.
In addition, a follow-up investigation exposed the company that had placed the orders for the counterfeit wheels with the manufacturer, YRC reported 28 May.
The Anlu municipal administration for market regulation has now instructed the manufacturing company to cease the production of counterfeit wheels.
The authority has also imposed administrative penalties on the company ordering those wheels, including a fine, as well as an order to cease illegal activities and turn over all remaining counterfeit wheels.
YRC said it “remains resolute in its stance against the infringement of intellectual property rights, including the production and sale of counterfeit goods.”
