Stella Mathioudaki named as new director to advance compliance, circular economy
Brussels - The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA) has named Stella Mathioudaki as director, product stewardship & sustainability.
In her new role, Mathioudaki will oversee the industry's efforts on responsible material use and regulatory compliance, ETRMA announced 6 May.
She will also lead key initiatives on tire sustainability, including recycling, retreading, and the broader circular economy transition
Mathioudaki joined ETRMA in November 2023 as senior manager for materials stewardship, where she focused on EU chemicals legislation and supported the industry's work on safe and sustainable material use.
In a 6 May statement to ERJ, the association said the position of director, product stewardship & sustainability is a newly created role for Mathioudaki.
This reflects “both Mathioudaki’s strong contribution since joining the association and the growing strategic importance of the circular economy in the European Commission’s agenda.”
Mathioudaki holds a PhD in physics, with a specialisation in nanomaterials.
