Americas gain strategic importance as Engel's "largest addressable market for injection moulding machines"
Schwertberg Austria – Engel has strengthened its market presence in Americas with the opening of anew production facility in Queretaro, Mexico.
The move marks “a substantial expansion” of Engel’s regional manufacturing capabilities, targeting the Mexican and Latin American markets.
The unit will enable delivery times and increased availability of injection moulding machines across the Americas, said the Austrian machinery maker in a recent statement.
Stating that Mexico will serve as a “key industrial and production hub”, Engel said the country was “an ideal location” for long-term investment.
Overall, the Americas continue to gain strategic importance for Engel, as the region represents "the largest addressable market for injection moulding machines," it added.
The expansion allows Engel to “notably accelerate the start of production” and increase the availability of its machines for customers across the region, said Stefan Engleder, CEO Engel Group.
The Querétaro facility also offers space for future expansion, if the market demand continues.
Engel will manufacture the e-mac (all-electric small machine) and Wintec t-win (hydraulic, two-platen large machine) series, as well as custom robots and automation solutions at this facility.
