WDK holds 'rubber industry day' in Berlin, where it urges government to support SMEs
Berlin – The German rubber industry association (WDK) has called for the ‘immediate’ implementation of an economic overhaul in the country.
Speaking at a 29 April “rubber industry day” event in Berlin, WDK president Michael Klein urged the government to focus more on medium-sized industrial companies.
“It’s hard to understand why small but vital industries for Germany’s economy aren’t mentioned in the coalition agreement,” he told the event, attended by 250 delegates.
Medium-sized companies, Klein said, are “insecure and urgently need planning security.”
To address this, the WDK leader said the German government must commit to reduce documentation and reporting requirements and to cut energy costs as quickly as possible.
Klein warned that for many small and family-run businesses, the bureaucratic burden was “almost impossible to cope with”.
