German supplier Kandelium declares supply restrictions following ‘major damage’ at production site
London – European rubber compounders and processors are facing a new disruption in the supply chain with a recent force majeure announced by German chemicals supplier Kandelium.
In a 30 Nov letter to customers, Kandelium said it had halted ground sulphur production due to a “major technical damage” at its milling plant for ground sulphur.
The supplier did not identify the location of the plant, but according to its website, Kandelium produces sulphur at its facility in Bad Hoenningen, Germany.
Kandelium said it expected the necessary repair, tests and preparation for a safe re-start to take approximately five weeks, based on applicable expertise.
