Vaughan Monroe passes baton to son, but keeps chairman position
Lisburn, UK – Smiley Monroe’s co-founder Vaughan Monroe is stepping down from his chief executive officer position and son Chris Monroe is taking over the role with immediate effect.
In a message published on the group’s website 15 March, Vaughan Monroe said he was officially passing over the responsibility of running the conveyor belt manufacturer to Chris Monroe as part of the company’s succession plan.
“During our exciting period of growth over the last several years, I have worked closely with Chris, offering my guidance when needed,” he said.
Vaughan Monroe, who co-founded Smiley Monroe with Mark Smiley in 1979, will remain as the chairman of the group to provide ‘long-term strategic support’.
