Certification comes a month after Synthos announced plans to build a 40ktpa bio-butadiene plant
Oswiecim, Poland – Synthos SA has received ISCC Plus certification for the production of sustainable butadiene and butadiene rubber at its production facility in Kralupy, Czech Republic.
The EU-approved international sustainability and carbon certification scheme (ISCC Plus) enables companies throughout the supply chain to demonstrate the sustainability of their products based on traceability and mass balance requirements.
In a statement 16 March, the Polish supplier said in addition to the certification of the two materials, Synthos Kralupy also received ISCC certification for its global butadiene trading activities.
"We believe that the availability of sustainable synthetic rubber made from bio-butadiene or other circular feedstocks will play an important role in the industry's ability to meet the demands of modern mobility," said Matteo Marchisio, SR director.
The certification comes a month after Synthos announced plans to build a 40 kilotonne per annum bio-butadiene plant at an undisclosed location.
