New ‘powerful shredder system’ by Eldan crucial for capacity expansion
Dillingen, Germany – Waste tire pyrolysis start-up Pyrum Innovations AG has progressed its scaling-up plans with a new sales cooperation deal with Danish recycling machinery maker Eldan Recycling A/S.
Under the agreement, the two sides will include each other's systems in their sales processes and actively market them, Pyrum said in a 7 Feb statement.
In addition, Pyrum has ordered a new, powerful shredder system from Eldan Recycling, which is expected to be delivered to its plant in Dillingen by the end of 2022.
With the new shredder, Pyrum said it can triple its processing capacity for used tires to up to 7,000 pieces per day.
At the same time, the machine enables “significantly better quality” of separated steel and can help Pyrum riase its sales prices for the product.
The shredder, according to Pyrum CEO Pascal Klein, will be crucial for the company’s scaling-up plans and the commissioning of two new pyrolysis reactors.
“[With the new machine] Our steel wire will also be considered a raw material in the future and can therefore be processed directly into new steel,” he added.
Pyrum began expansion work at its tire recycling site in Dillingen in November last year.
The project, which will see the site tripling its processing capacity to 20,000 tonnes of waste tires per year, is currently going ahead as planned, according to Klein.
The company expects to commission the two new lines by the end of the year.
