Distinction given in context of the Sustainability Yearbook 2022
Milan, Italy – Pirelli has been awarded the “gold class sustainability award 2022” by Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI), the Italian tire-maker has announced.
The distinction was made in the Sustainability Yearbook 2022, published by S&P Global, and was based on the assessment of the sustainability profiles of over 7,500 companies, Pirelli said 1 Feb.
The rankings are prepared each year based on the corporate sustainability assessment for the S&P Global Dow Jones Sustainability indices.
In 2021, Pirelli was confirmed one of the top performers in the automobiles & components sector with a score 77 points compared with the sector average of 31.
“We are proud to be reconfirmed gold class in the Sustainability Yearbook 2022, also the year of Pirelli’s 150th anniversary,” said Marco Tronchetti Provera, executive vice chairman and CEO of Pirelli.
“This recognition is the result of… pursuing a business model based on a growth strategy that is sustainable and long term,” he said.
